In June 2019, an event was held called ‘Daks Over Normandy’. This involved Douglas DC-3s from around the world joining together to commemorate the 75thanniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy. The start of the end of WWII.

The aircraft gathered at Duxford Airfield, in Cambridgeshire. While, not an airshow as such, The Imperial War Museum decided to hold public days here in the lead-up to all the DC-3s departing across the channel to hold a commemoration event in Normandy, where the landings originally took place. Unfortunately, the weather at Duxford didn’t play ball and was rather cloudy, windy and wet. This meant that the parachute drops were cancelled and the flying somewhat erratic.

In this gallery is my attempt to capture this event. I have also included some of the other aircraft that were taking part as well as the DC-3s. Despite the lack of photographic quality, I hope you enjoy the photographs.
