July 2015 once more saw me visiting Majorca for five days. Back in the resort of Ca’ n Pastilla, the opportunity was taken to spend each morning by the old gun emplacements just a few minutes walk from the hotel to catch a few aircraft as they came in to land and take-off.

This year they were mainly using Runway 24R for take-offs which meant they were taking off over the bay rather than landing in that direction. Only once during the five days did they use Runway 06L for landing over the bay and that was only for three hours one morning.

With a lot of consolidation from most of the European charter operators while well represented they nearly all have the same colour schemes which gets a bit ‘samey’ after a while. Gone are the days when each airline had it’s own individual colours. At times it was hard to believe I was in Spain with the amount of German airlines, especially Air Berlin present.
