The Luftwaffen Museum is located at what was once the airfield of Gatow. This airfield has played host over the years to the German Air Force, the Russian Air Force for a short time and then the Royal Air Force. Gatow was extensively used in the Berlin Airlift from June 1948 to May 1949. The RAF withdrew from the airfield in 1994.

Since this airfield closed a museum has been built up here with an impressive collection of aircraft on display, both inside and outside. Well worth a visit for anyone in the area interested in aviation.
