Dubai 2019

A short aviation trip to Dubai was made in February as a break from the winter weather in England. The group stayed at the JW Marriot Hotel near the airport. The rooftop terrace gave a view of the airport along with views of passing aircraft on arrival or departure depending which runway was being used. The departure shots are a bit ‘up and under’ and the arrivals are almost side on.

As can be expected Emirates is the dominant airline here, along with Fly Dubai with their large fleet of 737/8s. Visiting airlines come from India, Iran, the Gulf States and Saudi Arabia. A small contingent of executive aircraft also drop in from time to time.
