The Sukhotai Traimit Golden Buddha here is made from pure gold and is 12 feet 5 inches in diametre is 15 feet 9 inches high and weighs 5.5 tons. Originally covered in plaster it was only discovered that it was pure gold in 1955 when it was being transported from it's original site to this place when some of the plaster broke off.
